Important: Spark Blood is a coordination platform. We are not a blood bank, hospital, or licensed medical provider. Blood screening, testing, collection and transfusion are carried out by licensed hospital partners under their own clinical protocols.
1. Acceptance
By creating an account, submitting a request, or using any part of Spark Blood Nigeria, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. Who can use Spark Blood
- You must be at least 18 years old to register as a donor.
- Coordinator accounts are issued by Spark Blood admins to staff of licensed hospital partners only.
- You must provide accurate information about yourself and keep it up to date.
3. What Spark Blood is — and isn't
- We connect donors, coordinators and requesters; we do not collect, test, store or transfuse blood.
- All clinical eligibility, screening (including for HIV, Hepatitis B/C, syphilis, and other markers), and the actual collection and transfusion of blood are performed by the licensed hospital partner.
- Spark Blood does not guarantee that a request will be matched, that a donor will arrive, or that any specific clinical outcome will follow.
4. Your responsibilities — donors
- Be honest about your health, recent travel, medications and previous donations.
- Show up if you accept a request — or update your status promptly so others can step in.
- Follow the donating hospital's instructions on site.
- Never accept money for donating blood. Voluntary, unpaid donation is the standard.
5. Your responsibilities — receivers / requesters
- Make sure the hospital you've named is real, licensed, and aware of the request.
- Do not request blood for resale or commercial use.
- Treat donors with respect — they are giving freely.
6. Your responsibilities — coordinators
- Use the platform only for genuine clinical needs at your assigned hospital.
- Confirm donations honestly and on time. The audit trail relies on you.
- Never share login credentials or impersonate other staff.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent requests or donor profiles.
- Use the platform to harass, dox, or solicit money from donors or other users.
- Attempt to interfere with the service, scrape the database, or bypass access controls.
- Use Spark Blood for any unlawful purpose.
8. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate any account that violates these Terms, abuses other users, or puts the integrity of the network at risk. Coordinator and partner accounts may also be revoked at the request of the relevant hospital.
9. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law:
- Spark Blood provides the platform on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
- We do not warrant uninterrupted availability or that matches will be made in any specific timeframe.
- We are not liable for the clinical outcome of any transfusion, the conduct of any donor or hospital, or for losses arising from failure to match, delay, or any third-party act.
- You use the service at your own risk; clinical decisions are the responsibility of the treating hospital and its staff.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under Nigerian law.
10. Intellectual property
The Spark Blood name, logo, design and platform are owned by Spark Blood Nigeria. Content you submit (stories, testimonials) remains yours, but by submitting it you grant us a non-exclusive licence to publish, edit for length, and share it across the platform and our channels.
11. Privacy
Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms as the service evolves. We'll update the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, notify users in-app or by email.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Nigerian courts.
