What a Spark Blood coordinator does
Coordinators are the trusted layer between hospitals and the donor network. They verify incoming blood requests, broadcast them to matched donors, receive arriving donors at the hospital, confirm units collected, and close out each request with an accurate record.
Most coordinators are hospital staff — laboratory scientists, blood bank officers, nurses or medical social workers — but we also approve NGO volunteers and campus organisers who work closely with a specific facility. What matters is that you can physically confirm what happens at the hospital end.
Applications are reviewed manually. We check your affiliation with the facility you name, contact the hospital where necessary, and run a short onboarding call covering the dashboard, verification standards and donor safety rules. Approved coordinators get access to the coordinator dashboard, the QR stamp scanner and request analytics for their facility.
The role carries responsibility: coordinators see limited patient contact details for the specific requests they handle, and misuse means immediate removal. Every action in the dashboard is logged.

- No. Any responsible staff member attached to a hospital blood service, or a vetted volunteer working with one, can apply.
- Is the role paid?
- Coordinator access is voluntary. Some partner hospitals compensate staff internally for the workload.
